A .44 (AMERICAN) SIX-SHOT BREAK-OPEN REVOLVER, MODEL 'No3 AMERICAN', serial no. 8660,
circa 1874, with blued round 8in. barrel, raised sighting rib signed 'SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS' and patent dates to August 24th 1869, crescent fore-sight, lift up back-sight barrel release combined, automatic ejecting fluted cylinder, blued frame, smooth walnut grips and colour hardened trigger-guard bow, the whole retaining a good amount of original finish with some fading and scratches
